While learning, I reward myself by watching this and that. Since I did my part in reviewing Episode 2, it is fitting if I give a little opinion about the “The Clone Wars” spin off show that Lucasarts made. And honestly, I have reached this sad state when I´m just annoyed by hearing that something new Star Wars related comes out. This is when this series surprised me. It does have potential! Half of the episodes are suspenseful and interesting to watch. Exactly the half of the episodes that do not feature the main characters from the movies. Unlike the ones with Anakin or Obi-Wan, the episodes featuring the clones or the lesser known Jedi show how the war affects the people fighting in it, whose future we don´t know. These people can live or die and there are several moments when you actually root for them. The suspense comes from the knowledge that the war WILL go on and they might actually fight in vain on their mission. As soon as Obi-Wan comes in, you know that he will save the day. Also having the clones talk and just do their work is surprisingly entertaining and sometimes pretty depressing. The clones know how replaceable they are and besides the Jedi, everyone else does so too. If I was in command, I´d actually make this completely about the clones, just like the Storytelling in Star Wars Battlefront 2 was.Or even better: No fighting at all! Just show how the war affects the galaxy and the people making the armor, building the guns or the medics doing their part. The less mindless action, the better in this case. We have the movies for that. This could be about the people who make things possible but are usually not seen.
All in all, this series is half entertaining, just watch the episodes without the major characters and you can have fun with it.
